NBA has acquired an interesting shape now. The Eastern Conference comprises of Atlantic, Central and South East while the Western Conference comprises of the Southwest, Northwest and the Pacific.

Is renaming on the cards for Hornets? This hot New Orleans’ franchise of NBA has been recently been agreed upon to be bought by Tom Benson. Benson is the owner of Saints. Three days has not passed after the declaration that the Commissioner of NBA, David Stern has come down to bayou to declare the venue for the 2014 Game. New Orleans has been decided upon as the host city. This comes as the reward to the sponsors, the ticket holders and above all the marvelous citizens of the city. They have not only cheered for the team but also helped to strengthen the financial position of the team.

After the announcement by Stern, Tom Benson came forward and asked the fans to suggest a fresh name for Hornets. Benson’s focus on associating the team with New Orleans became apparent as he wanted the new name to mean Louisiana and New Orleans. Benson has already agreed to shell a whopping amount of $338 million to acquire the club.

To this suggestion of name change put forwarded by Benson, Stern cheekily commented that “He (Benson) doesn’t own the team as yet”. When Benson replied that he has disbursed $25000 as the down payment, Stern suggested that it is in his benefit that Benson should stop commenting till further developments in the following words, “…if you (Benson) wants that money as a credit towards purchase price should stop talking”.

The conversation ended on a funny note, however, the search for a good and appropriate name for the team continued.

Benson’s agenda had more important issues other than the issue of getting the club a new name related to the place of New Orleans. He wanted a new training and practice facility for the team as well.

Benson’s interest in basketball as the football club he owns seems to come out of the bounty scandal which resulted in the suspension of Sean Payton the head coach of the team for the whole of the season.

Whether the team Hornets get a new name or not; only time will tell. In the meantime watch the players in action against the Charlotte Bobcats on the 16th of April. Surely there going to be a tough fight before one of the teams gives way to the other.

The Chicago Bulls and the Washington Wizards will lock horns on 16th of April.

They created an aura around the NBA that gave boost to the television watching and huge publicity to Connecticut and Greenwich.

The buzz encompassing the four biggest offseason potential free agents is doing rounds in the NBA circle.

Deron Williams has become one of the most sought after free-agent for the 2012-2013 seasons. This comes with the fact that the other star Dwight Howard has chosen to remain along with Orlando magic for the next season. Twenty seven year old Deron Williams has proved him over and over again as the topmost playmakers in basketball that can double up as a scorer if he is required to. This point guard scored as much as 57 points against Bobcats in an earlier match this season which is proof enough of his talent and dedication. Though he is best with Chris Paul in the best point guard position in the game, to have a winning strategy, Nets will require an additional scoring hand to make the most of his best seasons. However, this man is keeping his intentions under the wrap. Though he has been quoted to have intentions in remaining with the Nets, he is yet to make commitments.

Another star to create ripples in the free agent market will be Steve Nash. Age is just a number for this 38-year old twice MVP. He has proven himself in several occasions and that increases his value irrespective of production. The mediocre team of Phoenix has been ably guided by Nash and the team is currently in the eighth seed of the playoffs for the Western Conference.

An otherwise reclusive person, Nash reportedly said “I would like to go for a three-year deal.” Whether any team is ready to commit that kind of thing for this aging player is what only time can tell.

Thirty five year old, 14-time All Star Kevin Garnett has all the right talent and credentials to evoke interest in the off season free agent market. However the miles accumulated on his body of this power forward may be an issue of concern for the teams.

Roy Hibbert, the 25-year old may be a somewhat restricted free agent at the offseason. According to an NBA insider, Cavaliers have high probability of signing Hibbert provided Hibbert becomes available. This is because the team has plenty of cash at the end of the season.

Macro Belinelli who scored the best six points of his basket ball career actually assisted the team New Orleans in many ways with the six points. Due to these six scores the teams succeeded to give a tough fight to the team Milwaukee by 92-89. On the other hand another 32 point by Kevin Martin ensured a win of Houston over the team Oklahoma. The success came to their way from a free- throw point when 23.6 minutes were left only for the match to come to an end. However, it was not only Macro Belinelli who scored winning points for native teams as there were several other players as well. Take for example the memorable 34 points and fourteen assists by Tony parker that actually worked for team San Antonio Spur to extend its winning streak only in just 9 games. However, it was not only the winning point that has created the magic. Memphis on the other hand saw off the team New Jersey with a score of 105-100.

However, the team Rupture also played well and made a record of scoring almost 18 points but they could not stay steady in the competition as a favorite player of team Lakers, that is Kobe Bryant succeeded to completed his drag by throwing the ball over the out spread arms of James Johnson. However the match was not that exciting when it was started, but it was the last moment that the field caught a fire and the players of Lakers, especially Bryant went arrogant and scored a remarkable point when it was only 4.3 seconds left.
On the other match the team Boston Celtics secured a win over Chicago Bulls with a score of 95-91. However, it was tough for the team to ensure the victory as it didn’t had its best player Derrick Rose but Rajon Rondo took position of the player and scored 10 rebounds along with 15 assists and 32 points.

However, other players also successfully added to the winning score as Kevin Garnett scored 12 rebounds and 13 points, Jajuan Johnson, who is a reserve, also added 12 points, and Ray Allen also scored 11 points who also snapped a 2 game skid.
Rose’s spot however went to the CJ Watson who actually scored almost 22 points and played as similar as Carlos Boozer who also bagged 7 rebounds.

The Washington wizard on the other hand threw the Detroit Pistons and defeated the team with a score of 98 -77. JaVale McGee was the hero of the match who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds and during this match John Wall also added 14 good assists.

For the Wizards a young player like Nick Young had 22 good points. Greg Monore of Detroit also played well and scored a remarkable point that is 27.

The Miami heat played a different game and succeeded to made good points against the Southeast Division of the Atlanta Hawks, a team which is holding the second rank in this season of NBA League. The team got a tough blow from Miami Heat as they have defeated the team with a score of 107-87.

Even though Mavericks lost the Thursday game to Spurs, there is more bad news for the team. Thursday game with Spurs saw Jason Kidd from Mavericks to turn out because of lower back strain. After the injury, he did not return to the game and now it seems that there are doubts about his return. This news has been confirmed by Maverick’s spokesperson. When San Antonio was playing with a 31-17 lead, Kidd played only 11:32 out of first quarter of the game, and then he checked out of the court and headed towards the locker room. He also missed both his shots and turned one with the help of three assists.

After suffering a big loss against San Antonio Spurs, who were playing without Manu Ginobili, the injury of Jason Kidd is a matter of concern for Mavericks. Because of the lower back strain that Kidd suffered, there are doubts about his presence in Saturday’s game. During the game Vince Carter replaced Kidd, as his return was not sure at all. When Mavericks stumbled with just 11 turnovers and 28.9% shooting, at this point Kidd’s injury can affect the coming match of Mavericks as well.

Jason Kidd was able to play just 12 minutes and then he just sat out for the rest of the game, and the team officials informed about the lower back strain. When it comes to the reason of the strain, nothing has been said clearly. This means that it is not clear yet as how Kidd suffered the lower back strain in the game. The next game of Mavericks is against New Orleans and the status of Kidd is yet not known.

The expert point guard at present is averaging about 5.6 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 4.7 assists in the current season in order to defend NBA champions.

The injury updates about Kidd does not indicates anything about his return, so if Kidd does not recover from the back strain, then the team might have to play the next game without him. After Kidd returned in the first quarter of Thursday’s game, it was Richard Jefferson, who did the damage with13 points and Matt Bonner’s 11 points followed this damage. The starters from Mavericks went back to locker room with just eight combined points for the team. Now, only time will tell what will happen with Mavericks when they will step on the court without Kidd against New Orleans on Saturday.
